Our New Swimming Pool

Last year we got a huge oversized inflatable swimming pool and I swore I would never do it again.  It was a hassle to fill up and impossible to keep clean.  I was constantly picking out bugs, leaves, and whatever else happened to blow into it.  Not to mention the chore it was to replace the water every couple of days.  It was so heavy that I had to ladle out buckets and buckets and buckets of water until it was finally empty enough to tip over.  At which point I almost always slipped on the grass while trying to hoist the pool and somehow ended up pinned underneath the stupid thing.  I have no idea how people maintain real pools.  I was seriously entertaining hiring a pool boy just for our inflatable one.  It was around that time that the pool mysteriously got punctured by our rake.  17 times.

Zoey loves to play outside though and loves water even more, so I was starting to feel a little guilty that I was denying her the water fun this summer.  She does play with the hose a lot and I plan to pick up some fun sprinkler attachments, but I was starting to wonder if I should maybe think about getting a kiddie pool again.  However, my Dad is 2/2 for genius ideas this summer (dirt pile being number one).

Behold, our new pool!

Yes, that's a rubbermaid storage tote.  It's quick to fill, easy to empty, and still Zoey-sized.  Brilliant.   And no pool boy required.
