Apple Festival

This weekend we drove to the Gettysburg area to check out the Apple Harvest Festival.  We had a lot of fun but I think we'll probably wait to go back until the kids are a little older.  You can't easily take a stroller in there, it's a far drive away, and it's just not so geared for the wee little folk.  I think it will probably be perfect when they're 5 or 6 though.

But I'm glad we went, we definitely still had a great time.  Zoey LOVED the baby farm animals, I thought we'd never be able to pry her away from them.  I swear she was plotting some way to free the baby cow and sneak him into our car.  Thankfully a baby pig created a diversion by attempting to chew off another toddler's fingers and I was able to make a swift get-away with Zoey.

Then we went on a hay ride, watched chainsaw woodcarving, tractor square dancing (yes, I'm totally serious.  tractor. square dancing.), we checked out the antique farm equipment and classic cars.  Ok, I didn't really care about the farm equipment, I left that to my Dad and Marty while I set my sights on the FOOD.   Pumpkin funnel cake, apple pizza, and fresh apple cider were WAY more captivating to me.   And of course we took Zoey on a pony ride... 3 times.  That girl is seriously obsessed with horses.

Here's a few pics from the day:

By the time we got back on the shuttle bus, we were exhausted.  Well, except Finn, who was cracking himself up playing peek-a-boo over the seat:

Next up for fall fun:  Ashcombe's!
