Christmas!

This year was a much better Christmas than last year - no working for me and even better, no trips to the hospital!

Christmas Eve we went over to Meme's house for food and family visits.  Adrienne & Gina came down too, which was awesome because we don't get to catch up often enough these days:

Then we headed back home where the kids got a special visit from Santa:

We had a wonderfully laid-back Christmas Day.  We spent the day at our house with a cozy fire in the fireplace and didn't get out of our jammies until 4pm.   That's my kind of celebration.  Zoey's favorite gift was her anatomy body from Aunt Dawn - a really cool body with realistic bones, muscles, and squishy detailed organs, complete with tweezers for taking everything out and putting it back in again.  Her "big gift" was a dollhouse.  Finn's "big gift" and also his favorite was a big workbench and toolset.

We all had a glass of sherry after opening gifts and of course the kids wanted little glasses too, so I put a bit of iced tea in theirs so that they could toast with us:

However Finn was far more interested in the grown-ups glasses.  We thought if he actually tasted the sherry that he would be content to drink his own glass of tea.  Wrong.  That plan went completely awry and he downed almost all of Granny's sherry.  Oops.

Eventually we did get dressed though and headed over to Meme's house in the evening to visit with more family:
