First Gingerbread House

We made our first attempt at a gingerbread house tonight.  I have no idea how I've managed to get through life without ever making one before considering how much I love all things Christmas and festive.  Maybe it's because I have zero mechanical genes in my body whatsoever.  Assembly and me do not go hand in hand.  But I bought this one because it looked easy, it even says so on the box:  "no baking required, easy to assemble".

Well I call shenanigans on that box, because it was NOT easy to assemble.  You're supposed to pipette the icing on the sides of the gingerbread and then in theory all the sides magically stick together.   First of all, the icing does not come out of the baggie looking like the picture above.  I think I got carpal tunnel from trying to squish the icing out of the tube, which emerged in goopy globular formation. The sides didn't stick together very well, Finn ate part of the front panel, and I couldn't get the roof to stay on (so half the roof ended up being a front porch).   So maybe it doesn't look like the picture above, but the kids had a really good time and dagnabbit I'm proud of our creation:
