Pimping for the Paparazzi

We have a couple different friends who are getting started with their own independent photography businesses.  So we volunteered the use of Zoey & Finn to help them out with getting practice shooting different kids, playing with flash and camera settings, and using any good shots for their portfolios.  And selfishly, I get more photos of our kids!

I seriously have no idea how people have the patience to shoot kids though, if it were me I would have to slip some sedatives into their sippy cups first.  As happy of a baby as Finn is, apparently he has no patience for sitting in front of a backdrop or being anywhere remotely near where you want him to be.  He smiles and laughs his head off when he's cruising anywhere that's NOT where you want to photograph him.  And Zoey is such a busybody she can't be bothered to sit still or refrain from running through the middle of a shot.  Although I guess that's why you have to tailor photography to the kids and not have much expectation of tailoring them to the photography.  Because at 1 and 2 1/2 years old, they don't care about anyone else's grand master plan!

Despite the Toddler Challenge though, Emily and Carrie got some great shots!  They do awesome work and I'm excited for them to get their photography businesses running.

Here are the birthday shots by Carrie Bonano:

And here are some from Emily Fontanella:

Outtake:  Zoey got bored and thought painting the chair was way more fun

Same shot, in color

Laughing?  Crying?  I can't tell!

His facial expression & crossed chubby feet CRACK ME UP

Outtake:  Ha, meltdown!

My favorite outtake:  puff stuck to his lip, drool fountain, meltdown.  Hilarious!
