Wellsboro Trip

This past weekend we took our annual trip to Wellsboro PA with Marty's parents.  I was super excited for it because 1) I've been working a ton and really needed the break 2) it was Finn's first time up there and our first time staying in a hotel with him and 3) I couldn't wait to use my new camera!

I'd been wanting to upgrade my camera for a long time.  When I dropped my old point-and-shoot in Meme's birthday cake and it stopped working, I took that as a sign that an upgrade was meant to be.  Either that or I'm so clumsy that I probably shouldn't be trusted with electronics at all.  Either way, I got an awesome Canon Rebel T3:

It's a really easy to use intro to DSLR cameras.  So far I'm having a lot of fun with it, learning a lot about the different settings, and I think it will be a great camera for me to grow into.  I notice such a huge difference in quality between this and my old camera, I could never go back now.

This is probably my favorite picture I've taken so far.  The depth and sharpness is so cool!

Anyway, we had another great weekend in Wellsboro.  We stayed in the same hotel, I think Zoey and Finn would have been content to never even leave the room.  They had a lot of fun bouncing around and playing on the beds:

No clue what he's doing but I love this expression!

We did go up to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon and although we didn't make it to the bottom of the mountain trail this year, we did a lot of walking.  It was a gorgeous day, that perfect combination of the warmth of the end of summer and the crispness of the beginning of fall.

Both kids were totally beat at the end of the day.  Before going back to the hotel, we went for an ice cream pick-me-up.  My conversation with Zoey went something like this:

Me:  "What flavor would you like, Zoey?"
Zoey:  "Green"
Me:  "Like mint?"
Zoey:  "No, green".
Me:  "Riiiiight"

And one of the most exciting things about the weekend?  Finn took his first unassisted steps!  For weeks Finn has barely been holding on when walking.  I think he's physically been able to walk for awhile now, he just hasn't wanted to let go.  So Marty and I were guiding him back and forth to each other and we stealthily pulled our hand away.  He took about 3-4 steps from me to Marty on his own and then another 3-4 steps back to me again before he realized he wasn't holding on anymore.  Once he realized that, he immediately sat down and was having no more of the walking thing.  I wish I had gotten a picture or video, maybe next time.  But in the meantime here's a cute picture of him strolling with Pap Pap:
