Look at this photo of Zoey. How on EARTH did she get so old?!? Seriously, WHERE IS MY TODDLER? It's like I blinked and now she has completely embodied being a preschooler.
This next photo is of Zoey all gussied up for her preschool tea party. For the last day of school before the Christmas break, all the kids wore fancy clothes and brought a stuffed animal friend as their guest for the tea party. How adorable is she? My favorite? The fact that even with all the ruffles, she still gets spunky with her pink cowgirl boots.
On Christmas Eve, Santa a.k.a. Pap Pap, came for a quick visit to the Lau House to make sure Zoey and Finn were on "The Nice List":
A smattering of photos from Christmas day. We spent the morning at our house, visited Pop Pop at Osteo, then came back to our house before I had to go to work.
As soon as my dad got sick, Sunita flew in town to stay with us and help out. We had help from a lot of people over the first couple of days that I was home, but it was especially Sunita's daily presence over the weeks afterwards that made me not feel like I was sinking. She cleaned the house, she cooked a LOT (her cooking is amazing!), she took turns watching the kids with Granny & Pap Pap, she bathed the kids, she laid them down for naps, she put them to bed at night. I joked with her that she was like my own little house wife (and I REALLY didn't want to give her up). When Isaac flew in later in the month, they went to the grocery store for us and made us a ton more awesome food. And if that wasn't awesome enough, Dawn was calling every day to check in and give moral support, she was also coming over a lot to watch the kids and help out around the house, she helped wrap ALL my Christmas gifts. Without Dawn, it would have been almost impossible to get Christmas together on time. The first couple of days being home from Louisiana were tough, but it was really the weeks afterward that were the real challenge. I thank my lucky stars every single day that we didn't have to do it alone. Sunita & Isaac left today, we're all going to miss them.
And that about sums up the high points that I wanted to hit for the month. A new year starts in two days and I am READY for 2012!
